Katy Trail Ride Day 2

September 7, 2014

We left the hotel just before 8:00 am. Around 10:30 am we arrived in Clifton City only to find Travis, our newfound friend that found my belongings on the trail yesterday, waiting for us. He rode all the way to Pilot Grove with us. It was an awesome blessing because it kept our minds off of the steady uphill climb to the first available services like food and water, about 12 miles. We stopped at a Casey’s and had lunch with Travis before we parted ways. Just before we met a guy who was riding a unicycle from St. Charles to Alaska! I would post a photo but I’ll have video uploaded of an interview Brian did with him when we get home. We have no computer right now. The remaining 9 miles of another 37 mile day went by quickly and we ended up getting a taxi to the Palace Restaurant in Boonville that had awesome gyros and enough leftover for lunch on the trail the next day! Kudos to Melvin our taxi driver from Midwest River Transportation that suggested it.

Again, the video will be uploaded upon our return. The only pic below is in Boonville after dinner.
