Yes, it has been awhile since we last post and shame on us! When you commit to something, the least we could do is carry it through. Life has it’s twists and turns which get in the way of doing the things you love to do, but when it’s all said and done, what do you want to be remembered for? Do we want to be remembered for what we had materially, how much time we devoted to a career to pay for those material possessions or what we DID as a person? We haven’t always had “a lot” by the current United States standard, but we have had each other in our families and in our church life.
All of that said and after a long winter of living vicariously through other lives on YouTube, we have decided to plan for another trip on the Katy Trail, where we last left off on our blog in 2014. We kicked around hiking part of the Appalachian Trail, but not for too long after the reality of our physical preparedness set in. Darn you YouTube! You entice us with all those real life activities that people make look so simple all the while our own muscles atrophy!
We rode a total of 280 miles our last trip on the Katy Trail in 2014, but with our upcoming adventure planned being on Memorial Day weekend, we opted for only 100 miles this time. Weekends are at a premium now with Brian having the time of his life playing harmonica for the John Jarrett Band (which we will share a little about at some point) but we have decided to make riding a priority again to alleviate some of that couch riding spread.
Ride along with us folks! Our vlog will be active this summer, so stay tuned!
